Program Summary
Sociopreneur Academy by HOPE is a program initiated by HOPE (House of Peace and Ecology) for 27 communities in Bandung engaged in peace and environmental initiatives aimed at learning to create positive impacts on society.
Program Objectives
The Sociopreneur Academy by HOPE aims to assist organizations and individuals in networking and collaborating with other organizations so they can work together to create a broader positive impact on society.
Program Background
Ika Hernawan, founder of Kelas Tambahan in Bandung, needs help to develop the community due to its weak foundation.
She pointed out that the Kelas Tambahan community needed a stronger foundation, sufficient financial management, and knowledge to achieve growth and sustainability and make a meaningful impact.
"We do not have the foundation, financial management, and knowledge we need to make our community bigger, sustainable, and beneficial for more people in the future."
PeaceGeneration Indonesia has created the Sociopreneur Academy through the HOPE program to support Indonesian communities in positively impacting society. Bu Ika's story inspired it.
Program Details
The Sociopreneur Academy by HOPE is part of the HOPE (House of Peace and Ecology) program, organized by PeaceGeneration Indonesia in collaboration with Eco Learning Camp and funded by APVentures. The founders established HOPE as a platform for communities engaged in peace and environmental initiatives to learn, network, and collaborate with other communities, entrepreneurs, and the government to create a broader positive impact.
Program Implementation
The Sociopreneur Academy by HOPE program is held online for three months using Zoom meetings through three journeys with gamified adventure travel. Participants learn about socio-enterprise concepts, creating lean business canvases, project management, human resources, finance, and creating sustainability plans for their respective communities/organizations. Assignments were given to participants on the peacegen.id website to enhance their understanding of the material.
At the culmination of the Sociopreneur Academy by HOPE activities, participants are invited to present business proposals for the self-sustainability and continuity of their communities/organizations. Three winners will be selected from the ten communities on the scholarship track to receive funding.
