After 19 Years of Fostering Peace, PeaceGen is Now Ready to Make an Even Greater Impact with Support from Harmony in Diversity Fund

PeaceGen Selected as a Grantee of the Harmony in Diversity Fund. In 2026, PeaceGen was selected as one of four organizations to receive funding from the Harmony in Diversity Fund. This initiative by AVPN, Temasek Foundation, The Silent Foundation, and the Nagulendran Philanthropy Alliance supports solutions to strengthen social cohesion, inclusion, and harmony in Asia. 

Out of more than 300 organizations that entered the selection process, PeaceGen was entrusted to take its community-based solutions to the next level. It’s not just a grant, it’s a vote of confidence to expand PeaceGen’s 19-year journey. From School, We See the Importance of Family in Building an Ecosystem of Peace.

Through this support, PeaceGen will develop Parenting for Peace. An initiative that involves parents as educators and the frontline in bridging diversity and strengthening social cohesion. Because peace education doesn’t stop at school, its values also need to be lived out at home and in the community.

When Children Learn About Diversity at School, How Does Peace Also Grow at Home?

In Indonesia, only 15% of the population has meaningful interactions with people of different religions. 15% of the population has meaningful interactions with people of different religions (LSI, 2022). Parenting for Peace aims to strengthen collaboration among families, schools, and communities so that the value of diversity becomes part of children’s daily lives.

Parenting for Peace: Turning Values into Action

  • Peer Learning: Learning from other parents’ experiences and perspectives.
  • Game-Based Education: Interactive learning that is relevant to families.
  • Community Collaboration: Connecting families, schools, the government, and the community.
  • 2-Year Goal: 990 parents will become leaders in bridging diversity and strengthening social cohesion.

19 years of existence serve as a source of inspiration that we will continue to nurture on our journey to spread peace.  With the support of the Harmony in Diversity Fund, PeaceGen is ready to take its educational efforts further and open up more opportunities for collaboration. Because lasting change happens when more people choose to walk together.
