What is the International Diversity Expedition all about?

PeaceGen believes the key to peace education lies in local initiatives, new approaches, and creative media. International Diversity Education (IDE) is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to be and experience what it is like. IDE will be held in Yala, a province in southern Thailand, on April 2-6, 2024.

IDE is designed to offer a safe space for communities to learn more about others, break prejudices, and build bridges of peace. In this event, there will be an internationally certified training based on PeaceGen’s 12 Basic Values of Peace, a 17 years proven and tested formula that have been also used in Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia, US, and Tanzania.

Why should it be in Yala, Southern Thailand?

Thailand, generally known for its Buddhist culture, also harbors diversity with the presence of the Thai Muslim community in Yala. The existence of the Muslim community, which is also part of the Malay ethnicity, often leads to tensions due to a lack of communication with other communities.

Currently, local initiatives in Yala aim to promote peace education through creative media to build bridges among cross-cultural communities such as Buddhists, Christians, and Muslims.

• Open for all nationalities

• No age restrictions; however, the age group of 17-35 years old is prioritized

• Fluent in English

• Have a strong interest in issues and teaching peace
