About the Project

ASIQS, a Quran-based educational institution in Malaysia, collaborated with PeaceGen to deliver the 12 Basic Values of Peace training to their teachers. The goal of this training was to introduce peace education and equip educators with methods to create a more positive learning environment for their students.

This collaboration aims to:

• Help ASIQS teachers understand and internalize the 12 Basic Values of Peace.

• Encourage the implementation of positive education through a peace-based approach.

• Build a more harmonious, inclusive, and empathetic learning environment for students.
  
  

Background of the Collaboration

ASIQS founder, Mohd Ashraf, recognized the value of PeaceGen's innovative educational media, curriculum, and training in peace education. He saw that PeaceGen's approach was highly relevant to ASIQS, especially in equipping teachers with the skills to educate students in a more positive and peaceful manner.

Through this training, the goal was for teachers to apply peace concepts in their daily teaching, helping students not only achieve academic success but also adopt social values that promote harmonious living.

Method and Approach

The 12 Basic Values of Peace training at ASIQS was conducted through the following approach:

• An intensive three-day in-person training session at ASIQS school.

• Interactive sessions that helped teachers understand the peace values and how to apply them in life and teaching processes.

• Discussion and reflection sessions to explore how each value can be implemented in the school context and teacher-student interactions.

• Simulations and practical exercises to reinforce understanding and build positive habits in teaching.

Impact and Results

This collaboration resulted in significant impact for the teachers at ASIQS:

• Teachers became more open-minded and receptive to new perspectives in teaching.

• Peace values began to be applied in daily interactions between teachers and students.

• The learning environment became more positive, inclusive, and supportive of students' character development.

• Teachers began to develop teaching methods based on empathy and peaceful communication.
