Ashoka

Ashoka collaborates with PeaceGeneration Indonesia to assist educators in realizing a progressive education system, becoming agents of change in the 21st century, and creating a renewed mindset through the Gaharu and 21st Century Teacher programs.

Why Does Ashoka Collaborate with PeaceGeneration Indonesia?

Ashoka is a pioneer of social entrepreneurship that has selected and empowered more than 4,000 Ashoka Fellows networks from 93 countries worldwide, including 205 from Indonesia. Ashoka Fellows are visionary leaders who address urgent social and environmental issues through systemic changes and complex frameworks. They have enabled and inspired others to create change, many since their youth.

As an institution striving to address social issues, Ashoka sees a condition where there is no space to discuss the profession and difficulties teachers face in Indonesia. Therefore, to address this issue, Ashoka organizes the Gaharu and 21st Century Teacher programs so that teachers can discuss problems together and discuss solutions.

The program aims to cultivate empathy according to the modules owned by Ashoka, namely the 5R Stages of Realizing Change (Feel, Achieve, Design, Plan, and Nurture).

In successfully implementing this program, Ashoka collaborates with PeaceGeneration Indonesia because we has organized the 21st Century Teacher program several times. The 21st Century Teacher program and the Gaharu program are interrelated, so the materials provided can be related.

What is the Impacts of the Collaboration Between Ashoka and PeaceGeneration Indonesia?

In this collaboration, PeaceGeneration Indonesia has assisted Ashoka in organizing this program by providing facilitators for three groups: Konferensi Waligereja Indonesia (KWI), Nahdatul Ulama (NU), and Muhammadiyah.

Here we create training documentation, creating gamified training, designing training concepts, facilitating participants in breakout rooms, encouraging participants in developing action plans, providing speakers & moderators, and backup operators.
