About the Project
SMAK Yahya Bandung is one of the schools participating in the JISRA - Youth for Peace program, focusing on the development of an anti-bullying project within the school environment. Four students from SMAK Yahya Bandung actively participated in creating initiatives that promote a more inclusive and safe school culture for all students.
Strategy
Previously, SMAK Yahya Bandung collaborated with PeaceGen through the Breaking Down The Wall (BDW) program at the junior high school level, where SMPK Yahya Bandung partnered with SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Bandung. SMAK Yahya Bandung’s participation in the JISRA - Youth for Peace program is a continuation of their efforts to foster a more tolerant and bullying-free environment. Four students were selected as school representatives to contribute to the development of the anti-bullying program.
Results & Impact
One of the greatest impacts of this program was experienced by Darlyne, a participant born in Papua and raised in Bandung. Before joining Youth for Peace, Darlyne rarely interacted with peers from different backgrounds and wasn’t very prominent in school. However, after engaging in the program, she experienced a significant transformation—becoming more confident, actively socializing with all students, and even demonstrating leadership in the classroom.
