150+ Teachers Become Agents of Change to Create Digital Safe Schools with PeaceGen

PeaceGen.Id - Entering the beginning of 2026, the challenges facing education in Indonesia are becoming increasingly apparent. Rapid digital growth has made it easier for us to access learning, but on the other hand, digital security threats are becoming more real. Based on data, nearly 48.2% of teenagers experience cyberbullying, compounded by rampant data leaks and the threat of online fraud.

In response to this issue, PeaceGen Academy took the initiative to partner with teachers to create digitally safe schools through a Digital Literacy Webinar entitled “2026 Resolution: Strengthening the Role of Teachers Towards Digital Safe Schools”. More than 150 teachers from various regions have joined as agents of change to create a safe and comfortable school environment in the digital space.

PeaceGen is working with teachers to jointly create digital safe schools using the ARCA method. The activity began with the “Romi Remuk” game. Through this game, teachers can directly experience the psychological impact of bullying on children. This experience helps to increase the emotional side and empathy of teachers in responding to and developing digital security policies in schools.

Why Do Teachers Need to Strengthen Digital Security in Schools?

Until now, many parties are still vulnerable to digital risks. One of them is school communities such as students who are often discouraged from using gadgets. However, Mr. Fikri emphasized one important thing in this webinar:

"Teenagers' brains are not yet mature in regulating impulses and emotions, while social media is designed to attract constant attention. Therefore, simply prohibiting it is not enough. We need to help students manage their relationship with gadgets, not just keep them away."

To understand digital threats in schools through an experiential learning approach, teachers are provided with practical knowledge and skills to:

  1. Recognize Interaction Patterns: How students interact on social media and identify the seeds of cyberbullying.

  2. Treat Cases at the Root: Discover patterns of student behavior to address digital problems at their root.

  3. Practical Protection: Technical steps to protect personal data, from password encryption to two-step verification.
