PeaceGen and Bandung City Education Department Conduct Capacity Building for Supervisors and Principals with 12 Basic Values of Peace and Digital Literacy Material

Peacegen.id - As agents of change in educational institutions, supervisors and school principals play a crucial role in improving educational quality. This is not only through academic knowledge but also through education that fosters effective thinking, behavior, and decision-making.

In response to this need, Bandung City Education Department held a training session on Improving the Competence of Junior High School Principals Through Principal Management Strategies in Junior High School Educational Units in an Effort to Realize Transformational Leadership in Bandung City Education Department for the 2025 Fiscal Year.

Not only school principals, but supervisors were also included in the training on Improving the Competence of Junior High School Supervisors Through the Implementation of SPMP and Integrated Learning of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Priority Program in Educational Units within Bandung City Education Department for the 2025 Fiscal Year.

PeaceGeneration Indonesia, as the presenter and facilitator, delivered two values from the 12 Basic Values of Peace (12 NDP) series, namely being proud of oneself and no suspicion, no prejudice, as well as material on digital literacy, namely cyberbullying and digital security. This substance is expected to serve as a foundation for supervisors and school principals in creating a safe, peaceful, inclusive, and digitally literate school ecosystem.

Held over one day with two separate sessions, the workshop was divided into sessions for school principals and supervisors. Both sessions were held on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025. For school principals, it was held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Bandung City Education Department Hall, while for supervisors, it was held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Dewi Sartika Hall of the Bandung City Education Department.

PeaceGeneration Indonesia provides an enjoyable learning experience. It starts with material about peace within oneself and ends with its application in the digital space. The material is delivered through the ARCA method, which is an experience-based learning concept. This process is carried out through activities, reflection, concepts, and the application of real experiences.

Ms. Risa Marisa, Principal of SMP Negeri 61 Bandung, admitted that she felt refreshed after attending this event. For her, the material that really answered her needs was the 12 Basic Values of Peace, especially the second value, no suspicion, no prejudice.

"All the material really answered the needs at school, such as starting to make peace with oneself and others, then digitalization. The material on cyberbullying was also very useful for students."

Mr. Dede Gumilar, Coordinator of the Bandung City Education Department, also said that what caught his attention was how the 12 Basic Values of Peace could help him see problems in the world of education. In addition, he admitted that this digital literacy material supported students' digital understanding in order to comprehend digital issues that occur in everyday life.

Given the prevalence of digital threats in daily life, Mr. Dede admitted that he needs special tactics to help avoid these threats, for example, through learning with more enjoyable and memorable experiences.

“We need to develop emotional intelligence skills such as self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, and relating to others.”

According to him, these abilities need to be developed in this digital era so that when students enter society, they can become wise, responsible digital citizens who use technology positively. This will enable them, as a productive generation, to have strong digital resilience. This is the first step towards ensuring that future generations are able to defend themselves in the current and future digital era.

Mr. Dede also explained that even though many jobs have been lost, these competencies are still important. In fact, they differentiate humans from technology. He emphasized that activities targeting supervisors and school principals are crucial, so he hopes that participants will be able to share their knowledge and apply it in their respective schools.

These competency enhancement efforts intersect with the hope of increasing digital literacy rates, which go hand in hand with competencies in the field of education.

In early 2026, PeaceGeneration Indonesia will hold a Digital Literacy webinar entitled “Resolution 2026: Strengthening the Role of Teachers Towards Digital Safe Schools” with guest speaker Fikri Faturrahman, S.Pd., a teacher and educational content creator.
