SEAN-CSO
SEAN-CSO has partnered with PeaceGeneration Indonesia to combat the narrative of violent extremism through creative media packaging based on research and community engagement. In this program, PeaceGen assists in maintaining online communication channels by producing bulletins and content and uploading them on social media platforms, as well as regularly updating the website.
Why SEAN-CSO Collaborates with PeaceGeneration Indonesia?
SEAN-CSO, as a platform for dialogue bridging researchers, communities, and activists in the Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (P/CVE) field, SEAN-CSO observes an increase in cases of violent extremism in Southeast Asia and Australia.
The issue of violence-based extremism is also felt in the education sector, marked by a significant gap between theoretical understanding and the practice of empathy education. This condition indicates that empathy education only exists on paper.
Ms. Kamila, a lecturer and researcher at the Mathali'ul Falah Islamic Institute, revealed that she and many educators in Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and Australia feel this dire condition.
Ms. Kamila's awareness of the need for active contributions from various stakeholders, such as researchers, communities, and P/CVE activists, to eradicate violent extremism laid the groundwork for the collaboration between SEAN-CSO and PeaceGeneration Indonesia.
