About the Project

SMA Pelita Fajar Bandung was selected to participate in the JISRA - 21st Century Teachers program in 2023. This initiative empowers teachers and students to promote and implement values of tolerance, non-violence, and a bully-free environment within the school community.

Strategy

The school engaged Ms. Sri, a religious studies teacher, who had previously joined the 21st Century Teachers program in 2022, to act as a facilitator. With the strong support of the principal, Ms. Lannie, the school continued to implement the program’s key values, encouraging students to appreciate religious diversity and foster mutual understanding.

Impact & Results

The program has had a positive impact on SMA Pelita Fajar’s efforts to embrace religious diversity. Students are now more engaged in learning about and celebrating different religious traditions, including praying together and acknowledging various religious holidays. Additionally, the school has incorporated PeaceGen’s Board Game as a creative tool to deepen students' understanding of peace and diversity.
